Mortgage Rates Inch Upward

Rates on 30-year mortgages rose for a third straight week as the 30-year fixed rate mortgage rose to 6.18% according to the latest report from the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac). That is an increase from 6.13% reported the previous week.

15-year fixed rate mortgages also increased from 5.89% to 5.93%. Meanwhile, the 5-year adjustable rate mortgage rose to 5.98%, up from 5.96% last week.

1-year adjustable rates came in at 5.47%, an increase from the previous week's rate of 5.44%.
