Mortgage Rates Jump

Mortgage rates posted a significant jump in the the latest report issued by Freddie Mac (the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation). Freddie stated in its Primary Mortgage Market Survey that nationwide average 30-year fixed rate mortgage rates posted an increase from 6.25% in last week's report to 6.34% this week. This is the fourth increase in as many weeks.

15-year fixed rate mortgages also rose from 5.98% last week to 6.06% in this week's report.

Five-year adjustable rate mortgages posted a rise to 6.04% compared to the 6.00% rate listed in the previous week, while one-year adjustable rate mortgages also posted a significant increase from 5.49% to 5.54%.
